Sanjay Roy, born and grew up in New Delhi in 1962. His parents were stage artists. Roy’s interest in painting was evident at a very early age.  He gives guidance to the senior art students in the art department, Triveni Kala Sangam since 1994. He does not have a formal degree in art, but he was fortunate to study under Shree G.R Santosh, Shree K.G Subramanium, Shree Somnath Hore and Shree Rameshwar Broota. His gurus disciplined and guided him and left him free to explore. Roy participated in national & international exhibitions since 1987. His first one-man show ‘self and the world’ was held at Triveni art gallery in 1993. His next solo show ‘Freeze Frame’ was held in New Delhi at Shridharani gallery in 2001. His last one-man show was on 2007 by Arushi Arts at Shridharani gallery. Also he has curated several important art shows. He is a senior fellow from Government of India. He has received junior fellowship as well as national scholarship from the Ministry of culture. He has made several Art films. Invited for New York Biennial.
